Hybrid In-office/remote: 75% in office / 25% remote

Basic Job Purpose/Function:

In close collaboration with Rogue Food Unites (RFU) staff, alongside other community partners and volunteers, this position will be working with the Development and Executive teams. The Individual Giving & Communications Lead will focus on growing a relatively new, small individual donor program into a thriving program focused on long-term, unrestricted, mission and vision based gifts. 

This includes using a strategic combination of fundraising campaign engagement and solicitation methods: direct marketing, online giving, social media, monthly giving, events, volunteer engagement, personal face-to-face and phone engagement, and providing appropriate stewardship to all individual donors.

In addition, this position will collaborate with the Communications team to develop and implement a successful strategy and plan to communicate, disseminate and engage stakeholders, connectors, and influencers with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and priorities.

Rogue Food Unites is developing core programs, and also is a first responder for disaster response and relief efforts. Job duties may include adapting core programs to emergent needs that are region- and disaster-specific and positioning the organization to be nimble and able to address disaster response while maintaining regular operations.

Essential Duties:

  1. Individual Donor Management: Manage and implement a comprehensive individual giving program.

    1. Meet all individual giving, acquisition, retention, and upgrade goals. 

    2. Work closely with the Directors team on their top-level engagement, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

    3. Manage a stewardship program for all individual donors, providing all donors with consistent, impact-driven stewardship, while ensuring mid-level and major gift donors and prospects have an intentional strategy for additional personalized outreach.

  2. CRM Management/Data Analysis and Reporting: In collaboration with the Directors team, ensure accurate and timely data collection for the individual donor program, and provide data analysis and reporting to demonstrate the impact of funded projects. analysis, and reporting and administration in the CRM software. 

  3. Communications Management: In collaboration with the Communications team, manage and implement a successful strategy and plan to communicate, disseminate and engage stakeholders, connectors and influencers with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and constituent priorities

  4. Community Engagement. Represent and participate in activities as directed to build and develop relationships with current and potential donors, local and regional organizations and service providers, volunteers and community members and report back on progress and findings.  

  5. Perform related duties as assigned. Serves in a flexible capacity to do what is needed to help meet the organization’s mission. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

  • At least two (2) years of project management experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • At least six (6) months of experience working in fundraising and communications. 

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly fluid work environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and CRM database management (Salesforce preferred).

   Desired Qualifications:

  • Bilingual / Bicultural in Spanish.  

  • At least an Associate’s degree in Administration, Business, or related field.

  • Any Hospitality experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. 

  • Any non-profit organization experience.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically performed in an office environment while sitting at a computer terminal, although work is also performed in a warehouse where food is prepared for delivery and/or outside/onsite at various locations in different weather conditions. Repetitive hand/write motion for data-entry and keyboarding functions. Occasional strain to the eyes while working with a computer terminal. Frequent interruption or change in workflow is expected. 

Must be able to meet other usual and customary physical requirements including: 

  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.

  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move boxes or bags of food weighing up to 40 pounds regularly/occasionally

  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.

  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.

  • Must be able to work in cold or hot environments and on concrete floors.

  • Physical ability to work indoors if masked for Covid protection, including sitting, standing, loading, running, and/or climbing stairs while masked
