Samantha Watson

She / Her

Board Chair

Samantha joined Jackson Care Connect (JCC) in 2019 and currently serves as their Director of Community Health Partnerships. At JCC, Sam oversees community and member engagement efforts and partnerships to promote health and health equity for Medicaid members and the overall community by improving access to upstream non-medical health enhancing services. One of these partnerships is with Rogue Food Unites, and from the moment she walked in their doors, Sam felt at home.

Access to affordable and healthy food is critical to improving health outcomes, and Sam is committed to deepening partnerships to strengthen our food system and ensure equitable access to healthy food for all our community members. Prior to JCC, Sam worked for more than a decade at OneLegacy, a non-profit Organ Procurement Organization in Los Angeles. She has an M.S. in Management, Strategy & Leadership from Michigan State University, and a B.A. in Communication Studies from California State University Northridge.

Sam has lived in both NY and CA, and after visiting Southern Oregon for more than two decades, she fell in love and relocated to Medford with her husband and two young boys in early 2019. She loves to travel, attend theater and concerts, garden, read, and buy house plants in excess for her husband to take care of.
